There are two ways our roleplay utilizes Tumblr’s platform for roleplaying. The dashboard, which is primarily for literate threads, and the community, which is designed to be “in-character” microblogging.
In order to minimize dashboard clutter we require that all members uses the beta editor on tumblr and Xkit [chrome link, firefox link] to allow for reblog trimming. Additionally we ask that players use a ‘read more’ when possible.
While we allow personal stylization on posts, we ask that members keep readability in mind for those who are visually impaired or use screen readers. Avoid using hard to see color/combinations. Gifs are not mandatory for this rp, but if a member plans on using gifs, please avoid using large sizes. Ensure all posts with potentially triggering material have a ‘#trigger name tw’ tag and are under a ‘Read More.’
We allow the use of multi-muse blogs, but please clearly mark and tag the posts for each muse. We also require that all muses be listed on a pinned post with links to their designated tags.
As public image will be a large part of the thematic and core TTRPG gameplay in INVICTUS, we require that members clearly mark whether threads are intended to be PUBLIC or PRIVATE.
Threads designated as ‘public’ are open for other players to create separate “reaction threads” or to reply at any time as witnesses or viewers to the events therein. The original participants of the thread are under no obligation to respond to these reactions but may if they so choose or may simply acknowledge the witnesses in any additional respond to their original writing partner(s).
For example:
Player 1 and Player 2 create a public thread where their muses get into a heated argument in the middle of a packed restaurant. Player 3 replies establishing that their muse was also at the restaurant at the time of this fight and watched it go down but never directly engaged with either of the other muses. Player 1 mentions in a reply to Player 2 that their muse noticed that Player 3’s character was watching them.
Threads designated as ‘private’ designate that the events taking place are only experienced by the muses of the players participating in the post.
If a post is not marked as PUBLIC or PRIVATE, it will be assumed to be private.
As event missions will have multiple slots open for players to explore the same in-universe events, “chain” threads, where more than two people are involved in a private thread, will also be allowed in INVICTUS. An example of a chain thread among three players would proceed as follows: Player A writes and posts the starter, Planer B then responds to the starter as the first link of the chain, Player C responds to Player B, Player A then replies to Player C’s response, and so on and so forth.
Because mission slots must be reserved and may have limited spots, if a mission thread is left unfinished, all participants except for the last person who owes a reply will be awarded Activity Points to be used for future events or for stat distribution.
As one of the primary topics we would like to explore in INVICTUS is the concept of kayfabe, a portion of the roleplay will take place within a tumblr community named after the in-universe social media app “AlterEgo”. Anything posted to the tumblr community should be in character and players are encouraged to create in-character handles for each of their muses.
Joining the tumblr community is mandatory and will be used for off-the-cuff, in-character social media roleplaying, like [here*!*] Truly one of our foundational inspos for this game.
Not all muses have to be on AlterEgo, but at least one must be for activity requirements.
When micoblogging in-character, preface the post with your muse’s online handle.

All players are required to tag any potentially triggering content with “trigger name tw” at the beginning of a post and in the post tags. Additionally, we recommend putting any potentially triggering content under a “read more” when possible.
Our list of triggers can be found at banned plots & triggers. , but we ask that all players be mindful of others and tag any potentially triggering content as a courtesy, even if it is not listed on our triggers list.
Explicit NSFW content is not allowed on the dash, on the discord server, or in the tumblr community. Such topics may be alluded to or referenced (i.e. innuendo and sexual humor), but we ask that all players be mindful of each other’s boundaries, and always ask for consent beforehand.
