Established in 1990 as Magnanimity, Valerian Universal began as a mediating company between permute talent agencies and local brands, testing the waters for stewards to enter the public sphere as influencers. Following the success of RealHero TV’s first broadcast in 1994, the company expanded its roster and merged with several New Everwick–based talent agencies to form Valerian Universal in 2000.
Now the leader in the “professional heroism” industry, Valerian has headquarters worldwide and employs up to 364,000 stewards globally. Although unaffiliated with governments, Valerian provides consulting and disaster relief, and receives sponsorship through their D.A.R.I.N.G. (Developmental Apprenticeship Refinement Intensive Nurturing Goal) program which trains young, potential stewards after review of their **National Stress Test.**
Valerian Universal scouts and represents those determined to be international stars. The agency manages today’s hottest talent—such as BYRON GAINSBOROUGH (KNOCKOUT)—who consistently dominate at the RealHero TV annual award shows. The company’s ambition to set the gold standard is reflected in its 24-7 in-house marketing teams, luxury brand partnerships, state-of-the-art training facilities, and more.
Yet, their competitive culture is a double-edged sword. Those left behind argue contracts are judged only by F.B.A.I. rank and “marketability.” The haves scorn the have-nots, and the company’s priorities mirror the contempt. Getting an audition is notoriously difficult, and climbing the ranks at Valerian is grueling—unless you know how to rub elbows with the right people.
