Stat Spreads

At the start of the game, each player has 10 points they can allocate across their muse’s statistics. Players do not have to use all ten points, however, unused points cannot be stored and used for later. This distribution functions as a spectrum rather than a simple ranking. Importantly, higher positive values do not always guarantee the best outcome. Results depend on the situation and the type of character you wish to portray, making the spread a flexible tool for shaping narrative possibilities.

This spectrum represents how publicly recognized your character is. A highly visible character can leverage their influence to achieve goals, though this comes at the expense of personal privacy. Conversely, a character with little public recognition may move unnoticed within a crowd, but will struggle to gain acknowledgment or exert influence.

The baseline at 0 is ORDINARY.

This spectrum represents how your character’s personality is perceived publicly, which may differ from their private nature. A personality viewed as generous may attract opportunities and a following, but can also lead to public expectations and entitlement. Conversely, a personality perceived as guarded may be seen as distant or unapproachable, yet benefits from reduced public intrusion.

The baseline at 0 is TOLERANT.

This spectrum represents how the F.B.A.I. ranks your character’s ability and how that ability is perceived in public. High‑potency powers deter conflicts but can provoke public fear and attract increased scrutiny. Low‑potency powers appear non‑threatening and draw less oversight, yet they can invite interference.

The baseline at 0 is INDETERMINATE.

Example Muse Stat Spread

chart.svg

Your muse’s stats can be adjusted in two ways: by spending activity points or through event interactions. Each event — whether successful or not — can influence your muse’s relationship with the public, opening up new opportunities. Importantly, a failed roll never blocks progress; instead, it branches into alternative storylines that continue to shape your muse’s growth.

Spending Points

Activity points can be spent to permanently adjust a muse’s stat spread. Each active muse that meets the weekly activity requirements earns one (1) point.

For example, if a player has two muses that met activity for the week, they would receive two (2) activity points.
