Ajay possesses a regenerative healing factor that manifests as automatic enhanced healing to any and all bodily injuries, up to and including death.

His regenerative healing factor is always passively active and Ajay does not have to consciously think about it for his power to trigger.

Ajay’s power can automatically and rapidly heal any injury he suffers. Any regenerated part of his body returns to a “flawless” state i.e. his base level of optimal health. As long as there is a cell of his that still exists he can (eventually) come back to life.

He initially viewed his power as a blessing, as he struggled to find meaning in his live prior to becoming a steward. However, over the course of his career, the mental toll of his power as well as a noticeable shift in concern for his well-being from his agency, the media, and the general public has soured his view on his permutation.

• At what age did their permutation manifest? Was it at a National Stress Reflex Test?

Because his permutation is relatively subtle — unless he experiences major bodily harm — he passed all mandatory stress tests. He knew from a young age that he healed faster than most other people but he did not want to bring any attention to it to avoid being put on the registry.

• What are their feelings on the “professional heroism” industry as a whole?

Ajay has had a crush and idolized Invictus since he was a child. He is of the belief that stewardship is necessary and that some people have a duty to protect others. However, he holds a negative view towards those who only want to pursue stewardship for the fame.

Ajay’s hero alias is “Phoenix,” and was given to him when he signed with Valerian at age 19.
